The Data Drop LLC privacy policy describes the privacy practices of the Data Drop LLC website, products, online services, application, and operations.  Your relationship with Data Drop LLC is dictated by the Laws in the State of Colorado, United States of America.  This privacy policy describes the privacy practices that are employed by the Data Drop LLC Software and Services.  This policy also applies to Data Drop LLC’s marketing and advertising practices.  Please also see the additional General Terms of Use, License Agreement, and Sublicense Agreement as determined by your usage of the products and services.

What does Data Drop LLC Collect From Me?

Data Drop ID, registration, and customer support

When you register to use the Data Drop website or application, create a Data Drop ID, or contact us for support, we (Data Drop LLC) will collect information that identifies you.  This may include your name, company, address, phone number, email address, payment information, job title, or other type of identification.  This information is required to allow normal operation of the Software and Service.

We also collect information about how you use our website and application, including when you use a desktop feature, an application feature, or synchronization.  We may collect information that your browser or device sends out automatically without your knowledge when you visit our website or utilize our application.  For example, your device will give us its unique Identification code each time that your device interfaces with the Software and Service via the internet.  In addition, your device may tell us how you came to our website such as the search engine, referral page, or another website or application.  Depending upon the source, your information may be anonymous or it may be associated with you.

Data Drop Product Activation and Automatic Updates

When you activate your Data Drop product, we collect certain information about you and your devices, the product, and your product subscription (license) number.  Some of our products include features that connect to our servers and offer you the ability to install updates to the product.  We may keep track of the information such as whether the update was successful or not.

Data Drop Emails

Emails that we send to you may include a web beacon that tells us whether you have received or opened the email, or a clicked link within the email.  In addition, a number of our products and services are advertised via online marketing.  We collect information about which advertisements are displayed and clicked on including which page the ad was displayed upon.  If you do not want us to collect this information for marketing purposes, you may choose to opt out of the marketing emails.

Buttons, Tools, and Content from other companies

Data Drop Software and Services may include buttons, tools, or content that link to other companies’ products or services (for example Facebook and Twitter).  We may collect information about your use of these features.  In addition, when you see and interact with these features from our website, your information may be transmitted to these other companies.  Please read the privacy policies for these other companies for more information before you interact with these features.  We may collect any information when you connect to our services via social networking pages or sites.

Data Drop LLC uses the information that we collect from you in a number of ways, including:

  1. Providing you with the Software and Service for which you have registered, as well as support services, or information requests that you have submitted.
  2. Better understanding of how our websites and applications are being used so that we can improve them.
  3. Diagnosing problems with our website or application.
  4. Tailoring our Software or Services to meet your needs more completely.
  5. Sending you business messages such as payments and those related to your subscription status.
  6. Sending you product update information.

Does Data Drop LLC use cookies?

Like most websites and applications, Data Drop LLC uses cookies and similar technologies to make our website and applications work correctly.  We also use this information to learn more about our users, marketplace, and business interests.

Does Data Drop LLC share my personal information?

Data Drop works with other companies to help us provide the Software and Service to you.  These other companies provide services such as customer support, server maintenance, processing of credit card payments, and sending emails to our customers.  In some cases, these companies have access to some of your personal information.  They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Data Drop may also share your information when:
  1. You agree to share it.
  2. Our resellers or other sales partners ask to receive marketing communications.  We do not share this information when you opt to not share your information for marketing purposes.

Is my personal information displayed anywhere on Data Drop LLC’s website or Application?

There are several places on the Data Drop Software and Service that allow you to post comments, upload information, or submit content for others to see.  Sometimes you might be able to limit who can view these files, but other times this information becomes public.  Please be careful whom you share your information with.  Do not post any information that you do not want to be made publicly known unless you are absolutely sure of the control measures that are in place to secure that information.  If you chose to share that information the terms of this privacy policy will not apply to that publicly shared content.  Please note that when you post an email, your name and email are included and displayed with that message.

To remove content that you have shared, please use the same website or application that you used to post the content.  If another user invites you to comment on your content, you may be able to delete your contribution, but that may be limited by the person that has invited the comments.  Please do not share any information with anyone that you do not know or trust, as we are unable to control a person or entities ability to publicly publish your information.

Is my personal information secure?

We understand that the security of your personal information is important.  We will provide reasonable measures to protect all of your personal information to the best of our abilities.  However, despite our efforts, no security controls are 100% effective and Data Drop LLC cannot ensure or warrant the security of your personal information.  Consequently, you assume any and all risk, whatsoever the nature, by utilizing the Software and/or Service.

Where does Data Drop LLC store my information?

Your personal information and data files are stored on our company servers or the servers of companies that we hire to provide the services to you.  Your personal information may be transferred across borders and stored in other countries as associated with the storage location of the specific server.

How do I review or update my personal information or close my account?

Under the law of some countries, you may have certain rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information.  Our website and application allow you to edit your personal settings by accessing “My account”, “My profile”, or a similar feature.  If you want to request a deletion of you account, please email your request to info@datadrop.co.  Please note that we may need to retain your records for certain legal or internal business reasons (such as those relating to fraud).  Some of your information may be retained on backup servers, in compliance with the applicable law.  We will retain your information for as long as needed to maintain you with the Software or Services that you are eligible to use with your subscription and license agreement, or as needed to fulfill our legal obligations or enforce our agreements.

Will Data Drop LLC market to me?

Unless you opt out of marketing contact agreement, we reserve the right to contact you with marketing documents and solicitations.  Your personal information may be used to convey those marketing documents or solicitations to you.

Will this policy change?

Occasionally, we may change or update the privacy policy to allow Data Drop LLC to use or share your previously collected personal information in a different way.  If we do this, the links on the website will be automatically changed along with a notification that the policy has changed.  The privacy links are found in the footer of every page on the website.  For new users, the change or update will become effective immediately.  For existing users, the changes will take effect 30 days from our contacting you with notice of the updated policy change.  We encourage you to periodically review the Data Drop LLC privacy policy.
